Ride Again is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors in San Antonio through our vital Senior Meal Programs. We partner with local agencies to deliver nutritious meals directly to homebound seniors via Meals on Wheels and provide congregate meal sites where seniors can enjoy meals together. These programs not only address the urgent need for daily nutrition but also foster social connections among seniors in our community.
Each dollar you donate is amplified through our efficient vehicle donation system, generating funding for meals and vital support services. With an average cost of just $7 for a home-delivered meal, your contributions can have a tremendous impact, ensuring that our seniors receive the nutrition they need to thrive.

↗Real impact, real numbers
When you donate to our Senior Meal Programs, your generosity translates directly into meals for seniors in need. A donation of $1,500 can fund over 200 home-delivered meals, including safety checks to ensure the well-being of our seniors. Alternatively, this amount can provide over 400 meals at congregate sites, where seniors can gather and share a meal. For larger donations, a $2,500 contribution provides more than 700 meals, while a generous $5,000 gift can supply a staggering 1,400 meals, enhancing the lives of countless seniors in San Antonio.
How we vet recipient partners
We take our responsibility seriously when it comes to ensuring your donations reach reliable and effective partners. We prefer working with Area Agencies on Aging-contracted providers that adhere to federal and state accountability standards. Our partners are also members of the Meals on Wheels America network, meeting the nutrition standards outlined in the Older Americans Act Title III-C. We ensure that our partners have no waiting list or only a short waiting list, indicating their funding sufficiency and capacity to serve.
How proceeds flow
After deducting tow and processing costs, approximately 70-80% of the gross proceeds from vehicle donations directly reach our designated partner programs. The funds are then allocated according to a program ratio that ensures effective utilization in delivering meals and services to seniors. Your generosity directly impacts the support and nutrition we can provide to those who need it most.
San Antonio recipient landscape
San Antonio is home to a rapidly growing senior population, many of whom face challenges in accessing nutritious meals and maintaining social connections. As state-level funding for senior services often falls short, the need for community-driven solutions is crucial. Through Ride Again’s Senior Meal Programs, we aim to fill this gap, ensuring that every senior in our city has access to the nourishment they need, fostering a healthier and more connected community.
